I’m not a professional party planner by any means but one thing I sure love is throwing a good “themed” party. Birthdays, showers, and holiday parties are my favorite. About a year ago I made the conscious decision to only buy cruelty-free makeup. I’ve mentioned it in other posts before, but I’ve never talked about why.
I have been a vegetarian for about 9 years so I’ve been pretty aware of animal cruelty for a while now. What really changed it for me though was my dog.

I’ve been looking for a way to help calm my 2-year-old son when his temper gets the best of him. I always do my best to recycle or reuse as much as possible, in hopes that maybe I can make a difference in the way that our society consumes and discards resources, materials, and objects. I’m a firm believer that waste doesn’t always have to be wasted. Do you ever see something at the store and think “I can make that”? I literally do that all the time and everyone always rolls their eyes because… can I really make that? Well over the weekend mom and I saw a really cute Christmas ornament and I said my signature catchphrase.
When I started explaining how we could actually make the ornament, I realized I’ve made something very similar before.I was instantly brought back to my days in the National Art Honor Society in High School. Back then we were making locker magnets and selling them to classmates, trying to raise money for art supplies.
Now it’s a fun little project for a rainy day. Make adorable emoji magnets or funky letters to arrange on the fridge.
I’m always in search of a yummy treat that I can serve my toddler, he’ll taste it, and he’ll actually want a second bite of it. This raspberry orange roll is adapted from a cranberry orange recipe I came across while on the hunt for something new. This Raspberry Orange Bites recipe came about mostly because I didn’t have cranberries on hand so the Raspberry Orange Bite was born.

When times get stressful sometimes all you want to do is escape the daily grind. One of my favorite ways to do that is by indulging in the supernatural/fantasy genre. What better way to get out of your head then to be in a world so unlike your own? Especially right now at the peak of hurricane season in Florida, we’re all still reeling from Hurricane Irma and all I want to do is think about something else.
I’ve always loved fantastical stories. From a young age I was all about Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings; as I’ve gotten older I’m realizing how much I truly love supernatural and fantasy storytelling. Books and TV shows really capture my attention because there is so much content to be consumed and the worlds really open up with long-form entertainment. So I have compiled a list of a few of my favorites, I mean obsession-worthy, supernatural/fantasy TV shows you need to be binge-watching!
With hurricane season at its peak right now in Florida, it’s time to make sure we’re all prepared for natural disasters and emergencies. As we’re getting our families ready for evacuations, it’s important to remember our furry friends.
