Nothing is quite as refreshing and energizing as the scent of lemons. Sometimes I’ll inhale lemon essential oil for a quick mood booster or have a cup of hot water with lemon slices for a soothing and relaxing hot drink. Lemon juice has so many varied uses, but these are my favorite 5 Practical Uses for Lemons. [Read more…]

When it comes to makeup (and most things, honestly) I’m a bargain shopper. Even before I lived in a van and couldn’t afford expensive makeup, I preferred drugstore makeup.

If you follow us on Instagram (you totally should), you may have seen my post last week about my little shopping haul at my local Walgreens drugstore that’s closing. All the makeup is 50% off! (I ended up going back and getting more makeup.)
For the past few months, I’ve really been trying to cut down on my makeup addiction. I canceled my Ipsy subscription and I haven’t been shopping for makeup unless I need it. As in, I use it every day and buy more when I’m out.
So when I saw that all of the Walgreens makeup was 50% off, I was at a loss. Part of me thought – you don’t need it, don’t buy it. Another part of me thought – I’m going traveling soon and I won’t have a lot of money. I have the money now, I’ll need this makeup eventually when I run out, so why not get it while it’s super cheap??
I’m always looking for ways to soften and soothe my tired feet. Still, I often have a hard time sitting still to let my feet soak—even if I happen to be watching T.V. I want to be able to jump up at any time and run and get a drink or find my phone—or whatever. So, if I’m going to confine myself to one spot for 30 minutes, there has to be a worthwhile payoff. This Lavender Peppermint Foot Soak is an excellent way to take care of my feet and relax at the same time.
Face mists are a great way to hydrate your skin all year but are especially refreshing during dry weather season. Not only do they soothe and calm irritated skin, but with their pleasant scents, they’re also a great mood and spirit booster. I love the way mists relieve my dry skin and make me feel refreshed. After inadvertently spending $17 on a face mist for oily skin, I decided to start making my own mists. I’m so glad I did – they’re more cost effective and I can tailor them to my own skin and the scents I love.
