Hot Florida summer days call for some major cool down tactics around my house. My tiny toddler works up a major sweat running around the park and blowing bubbles in the backyard. DIY Summer Popsicles are an easy and healthy way to cool down overheated children without feeling guilty about how many they eat.
When J was about 6 months old, I started making him breastmilk popsicles to help relieve his sore gums during the beginning stages of teething. He enjoyed them so much that when I weened him from breastmilk, I started experimenting with different fruits, veggies, and yogurt combinations. Determined to keep sugar intake at a minimum, I decided that DIY Popsicles were a much healthier alternative to keep my son cool on hot summer days.
As a bonus, I can hide veggies like kale, carrots, and broccoli in these DIY Popsicles and little J is none the wiser!

Hi! I’m Meagan and I’m a 41 year old mom of a high energy almost 9 year old, happily navigating my way through the little boy years. I’ve been married for 14 years. I met my husband over 20 years ago in high school; we got married 10 years later after graduating from the University of South Florida. I currently help run a family business with my parents while blogging about my life and love of DIY projects!
When I’m not at a kids sports game, I enjoy spending time with my family on a beach anywhere. I also love decorating and organizing, fun DIY projects, bargain shopping, and eating out or in! I also love Barbecue anything and a good show or movie on Netflix.

I hope they love ’em!!
I think th watermelon lime and the lemon lime would be my favorite ! Perfect for the season!
It is so yummy. My son loves sucking on lemons and limes but I feel a little bit better about adding the flavors into the popsicles rather than him sucking the fruit!
Brocolli and apple would be magical! All that yummy flavour and the bonus of lots and lots of calcium for your little one. It’s great that this post can be so easily veganised too (vegan yogurt!). Thank you 💚
Great idea…Thanks!
What great recipes! These all sound delicious and nutritious!
These are all so great! Thanks so much for sharing. I will definitley be making these when my son is born and starts to teeth!
I started with breastmilk popsicles when my son was an infant and then gradually moved to these, which he now loves. Good Luck!
These are great! Not only a good option to help get my picky eater to eat some fruits or veggies but a healthy option. Thanks for sharing! Think we’ll be whipping up some popsicles this weekend!

Unashamed to say I’ll be giving these a go, and a toddler I am so very far from being😄. it’s so hot where i am and I’ve been craving something other than water to cool down. DIY Popsicles are just the thing. These combos sound delish just reading them. Thank you! Pinning for the weekend😁
I love them too, I usually finish off whatever my son leaves behind!
