My November Ipsy Glam Bag review is here! Before we get into that, I want to remind everyone that it is the holiday season and Ipsy makes a great gift! I pay a monthly subscription fee of $10 every month, but you could pay an annual subscription fee of $120 and give a year’s worth of Ipsy as a gift! You just have to remember to cancel it before it renews on your credit card the following year. If you’re not familiar with exactly what Ipsy is, you can read my August review explaining all about it. Otherwise, you probably already know and that’s why you’re here. So let’s get started.
November Ipsy Glam Bag Review:
Doucce – Freematic Blush in #49 Zen Orange – I’m completely in love with this product. The formula is great; it’s a lovely orange matte. If you’ve read my Fall Favorites post, you know how much I love an orange blush for the fall and winter. My one complaint is the packaging. When I looked up the retail price ($28), I found that the packaging on what I received isn’t the retail packaging. Maybe it’s just the packaging for the sample size or the Ipsy bag. However, the package is not secure – the top just slides on and off, so I wouldn’t trust something like this in my makeup bag. Other than that, this product is great and I’m really satisfied with it!
FORMULA X Nail Polish in Huntress – This is not my favorite nail polish that I’ve received from Ipsy. Even though it’s a nice metallic greenish color, which is festive for the season, it’s not really for me. My problem with nail polishes are that I change my mind too often to keep a color on longer than a few days, so I never invest too much into them. I’ve tried Formula X in the past and don’t have any complaints about the formula; I just didn’t like the color. I wouldn’t buy this product even though it only retails for $5.
tarte cosmetics – deluxe maracuja oil – I’m not completely sure how I feel about this product. Face oils are not something I would normally purchase for myself. That being said, I don’t totally hate it. I’ll keep trying it though, maybe not every day. I don’t love that feeling of the oil on my face; it feels like it shouldn’t be there. Is that weird? This travel size retails for $15 at Ulta and the full-size product retails for $48 so I probably wouldn’t buy it.

pūr~lisse –Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer – Let’s be honest, moisturizer is a fancy name for lotion. I love a lotion that makes me feel hydrated and fresh – this was not that. It felt a little heavy and not very refreshing. I was just not excited about this product. Yes, I love trying new products but overall I feel indifferent towards this. I could take it or leave it, but at the retail price of $55 I think I’ll leave it.
theBalm Cosmetics – Mad Lash® Mascara – I have to admit, I was a little disappointed when I first saw that I was getting this product in my glam bag. I saw Ipsy advertising the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and that’s what I really wanted. I’ve never tried it, and I hear so many wonderful things about it. However, when I received the Balm’s Mad Lash and started using it, my mind was changed instantly. I love this mascara! It’s probably one of my all-time favorites. The only complaint I have is the packaging. It reminds me of the tarte lash paint packaging (I reviewed it here) where the cap doesn’t twist off and it has no rim. You just pull the cap off and there’s nowhere to wipe any excess mascara. Plus, it’s hard to get a grip on the bottle sometimes. Other than that, I really love this product. The formula is great; the brush is curved, plastic, and it works wonders. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the product only retails for $9!

Overall, the products in this month’s Ipsy bag were kind of hit or miss. I only really liked and will use 2 of the 5 products. The good news is that I only paid $10 for $145 worth of products. I didn’t lose out on anything, and that’s what I love about this service! I got to try these products without having to spend an exuberant amount of money.
I hope that my review this month didn’t sway you away from Ipsy because they truly are a great service, and I’m not paid to say that. Although, I have been thinking I might switch to another service, just to see how they compare. I just have a hard time letting go of Ipsy.

Does anyone else have another beauty subscription service they like and could recommend? I know about Boxycharm and Birchbox, but I haven’t taken the leap yet. Let me know in the comments below what you think. Also, let me know what you thought about this month’s product if you subscribe to Ipsy.
