Babies and toddlers are notorious for two things…being cute as heck and getting sick. It’s unavoidable. So, no matter how many antibacterial wipes you invest in, how many times you tell them not to eat floor food, or how many times you double boil every pacifier, they’re going to get sick. Inevitably, you’ll make a 1 a.m. trip to the pharmacy or beg your pediatrician for [Read more…]

Eco-Friendly Shopping Tips
In honor of spring and Earth Day, now is a time to reflect on the patterns we’ve created in our lives and how they affect our environmental footprint.

For those times, look to these eco-friendly shopping tips below:
Natural Teething Remedies
When my son started teething at around four months old, my first instinct for natural pain relief was to let him chew on chilled teething rings (a go-to for most moms). When these classic favorites didn’t do the trick, I tried what seemed like every teething toy imaginable. I now carry around a gallon size zip lock bag in my diaper bag filled with what I refer to as [Read more…]
5 Ways to Keep Birds Safe and Healthy
Florida springtime weather is so lovely. It’s not too hot or humid yet, and the rainy season is still a few months away. This is the best time of year for all kinds of activities here in the sunny South. Many of us will spend a lot of time outdoors walking, hiking, biking, picnicking and, of course, sunbathing. I love gardening and just spending time in my backyard.
Since spring is breeding season for many birds, this is a great time of year to go birdwatching. As an avid birdwatcher, I’m always concerned about the safety of these beautiful creatures. Here are some tips to help protect birds no matter where you live or what time of year it is:
5 Eco-Friendly Travel Tips
In honor of Spring, it’s time to start planning your next travel adventure! Whether it’s spring break or summer break, or just a weekender trip – travel plans are exciting!
That being said, traveling is also usually costly – not just for you – but for the environment too. Usually when traveling people like to indulge and splurge. But in doing so, it causes more waste, more energy, and more emissions than would have been extended before.
Some of the best ways to travel eco-friendly are to travel as though you never left home. You’ll see what I mean below.
Here are 5 tips for eco-friendly vacationing:
Candy-Free Easter Egg Stuffers
I am so excited for this year’s Easter egg hunt! My son, who is 20 months old, is at the age where is he loves opening and closing doors, containers with lids, toilet seats, cabinets, bottles with caps, etc. Just about anything with a hinge or a lid is like the coolest thing in the world to him. If only his standards [Read more…]

15 Engagement Photo Prop Ideas
Anyone getting married knows that engagement photos are practically required. Okay, not really, but they are highly encouraged. Most couples use the photos for Save the Dates, wedding website photos, and as a way to celebrate their upcoming nuptials.
My fiancé and I just took our engagement photos. We looked at all kinds of engagement photos for inspiration and we saw that some people had props. Since our photographer said we could do whatever we wanted, I combed the internet for ideas. What I really wanted was a list of prop ideas. So here we are.
*Remember, props are a great way to represent both you and your fiancé together and individually. These props can be something you’re both interested in or something each one of you is interested in. The experience is for you both!

5 Tips for Moving and Packing
In an effort to save money, the fiancé and I made a big change – we moved in with my parents! Not only are we saving money for the wedding, but we got out of a tiny apartment, and we’re also saving for a new place. Even though there are tons of perks to this move, it’s definitely been a tough a process.
It starts and ends with packing. We had to get a storage unit because we’re essentially living in my parent’s basement. Space is extremely limited and we don’t know how long it will be, which makes it hard to know what to bring and what to store.
Even if you’re not packing to store, just packing to move, these tips will still be helpful.
DIY Easter Centerpiece
Spring is here and Easter is just around the corner. That means it’s not only time to break out the Claritin, but also get out your plastic eggs and ceramic bunnies. Pastel is in full bloom and I love it!
I always look forward to decorating my house for every holiday, but Easter is one of my favorite. I love the soft undertones that Easter colors bring, the look of shabby-chic fabric bunnies, and warmth of Spring in the air. Decorating my large dining room table is my most favorite. It’s one of the focal points when you walk into my home and though it doesn’t get much use on a daily basis, I know it gets its much-needed attention during the holidays. So, it’s gotta be all dressed to impress! If you’re looking for a Pottery Barn “esk” table centerpiece, but not looking to spend the Pottery Barn bucks, [Read more…]
