While surfing Amazon one night, I got excited when I came across a feature that listed Key Items to Work into Your Wardrobe, so I got inspired to do a post about it. At first, I thought I hit the jackpot – easy shopping all in one place, right? After clicking through and the checking prices of all these cute fashion items I now desperately wanted, I was quickly [Read more…]

Below is my review on each product I received in this month’s bag:
June Ipsy First Impressions
I just got back from a week-long vacation (if you follow our social media, you may have noticed) and I received my Ipsy bag the day before I left. So I haven’t had much of a chance this past week to try anything out.
I used to like waiting a few weeks before reviewing the products so I could have a chance to try them all. But by that time I find that everyone has moved onto their excitement for the next month’s bag. So I want to share my first impressions of my June Ipsy Bag.
The glam bag itself is super cute! It’s light canvas with white polka dots and a big ol’ pair of lips on the front. It’s small and lightweight, perfect for summer!
May Ipsy Review
This month I wanted to do something a little different for my May Ipsy Review.
Every month I usually wait about 2 weeks until I review each product. I like to have time to actually use the product so I can give a fair review. That being said, I think by the time I post it everyone has moved on to their hopes and dreams for the next month’s bag.
So I want to review while it’s still fresh in everyone’s minds. I got my May Ipsy bag on May 11th, a little sooner than I usually do so I’ve had it for a few days already. And I can tell you that I’ve already used everything in my bag.
May Ipsy Review:
What’s in my Bag?
I recently bought quite possibly the cutest purse I have ever seen. It’s called a MulticSac – a backpack purse that converts to a cross-body and a handbag. It has about 75 pockets (okay at least 11). It’s a beautiful gray color with a texture that looks like leather but is all manmade materials so I didn’t feel guilty buying it.
April Ipsy Review
The thing I love most about Ipsy, besides getting to try so many great products for a low cost, is how customizable the bags are. I love that I can set up my account profile and Ipsy always stays close to my settings. Ipsy also takes cues from my product reviews on their website. They’re always fine tuning and making sure I get the most out of my monthly bag.
This month was no different. The bag itself is possibly the cutest thing ever and everything inside the bag… well, let’s get started.
March Ipsy Review
If you read my post about February’s Ipsy bag, you know I was not happy with it. Well, let’s just say that March’s bag MORE than makes up for it. I absolutely LOVE everything in my Ipsy bag, including the bag itself!
Let’s get started:
February Ipsy Bag
This month’s Ipsy bag was interesting, to say the least. I don’t want to give away too much before I review the products so let’s dive right in.
tarte Swamp Queen Review
It was the day after Christmas and Tarte was having a 60% off sale. Our eyes met from across the screen and I just couldn’t say no to Swamp Queen.
I don’t know what exactly inspired me to buy this palette. I’ve never tried a full face palette from Tarte before and I guess it was too cute to pass up! So I was really excited to try the Swamp Queen Palette with Grav3yard Girl palette!
January Ipsy Review
If I had to rate my January Ipsy bag, it would be a 9 out of 10! While I wasn’t expecting to love every product, I was pleasantly surprised that I did, for the most part.
Here’s what I thought of this month’s Ipsy bag:
Simple Too Faced Eye Shadow Tutorial
This week I’m doing a simple eyeshadow tutorial on a look that I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on. I don’t fancy myself as a beauty guru but I have learned a lot from them. I’ve learned to take chances and experiment with my eye makeup.
I’m using the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon eye pallet for this look. It’s perfect for a night out with friends or even Date night.
DIY Coconut Honey Hair Mask
One thing in my life that gets frazzled after the holidays is my hair. Normally, I wash, blow dry, and curl it every other day. I may curl it again or use a straightener on the off day. I definitely do all of it more often during the holiday season when I go to parties and extra events. Combine that with the dry weather we have during the winter and my hair needs extra help.
To keep my hair healthy I primarily use Rusk Deep Shine Keratin Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner, a product line that my hair stylist, Evan, recommended. She also recommended using coconut oil on my hair as a deep conditioner. Sometimes I do use straight coconut oil on my hair and sleep with it on all night. In the morning I just wash it off. Shampooing two to three times gets all the oil out.
I came up with a hair mask that combines the benefits of both coconut oil and honey. It leaves hair moisturized and free of buildup. It’s also simple and easy to make at home with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.
