This month I wanted to do something a little different for my May Ipsy Review.
Every month I usually wait about 2 weeks until I review each product. I like to have time to actually use the product so I can give a fair review. That being said, I think by the time I post it everyone has moved on to their hopes and dreams for the next month’s bag.
So I want to review while it’s still fresh in everyone’s minds. I got my May Ipsy bag on May 11th, a little sooner than I usually do so I’ve had it for a few days already. And I can tell you that I’ve already used everything in my bag.
May Ipsy Review:
Manna Kadar Cosmetics
Radiance Split Pan Bronzer and Highlighter Duo
Duo products are not my favorite. I feel like the packaging is too small to get enough of both product. However, this product isn’t bad. The bronzer is not as matte as I’d like and it’s pretty dark but it blends out well. I actually used the bronzer as an eyeshadow and I like that a lot! The highlighter in this duo is definitely more subtle and I suppose everyone needs a subtle highlighter in their collection too. This is a $21 dollar product and I’m pleased with it.
Adesse New York
Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Surfer Girl
I am not a huge fan of this color. I received a similar color in my last Ipsy bag that I just couldn’t stand. But I wanted to give this color a chance. It’s a nice for summer. And I do love this brand. The formula is great and the glossy finish is awesome. I did keep the color on my nails for a solid 3 days and I will probably try it again in the future. It’s an $18 product so if you’re serious about nail polish and like this color, here is product is for you.
Island Life Eyeshadow Palette
I love Pacifica and am always excited at any chance to try their products. Pacifica an expensive brand that is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. But they don’t have a wide variety of products. This product isn’t even on their website. However, this palette is perfect for summer. There are 5 shades that are great for the days you don’t want to do a full eye look. It’s great for keeping it simple and cute. I will probably keep this in my purse in the summer for emergencies.
Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660
When I first saw this brush, I was a little disappointed because I thought I already had it. Turns out the one I have is similar but it’s a highlighter brush, not a foundation. That being said, I freaking love Luxie brushes. Every time I receive one in my Ipsy bag it’s the best thing ever. This is a $23 dollar product by a brand I love, I will always find a way to use it.
Creamy Matte Lipstick
I saved the best for last. Lipsticks are just about my favorite thing to receive from Ipsy. I am so excited about this product because the shade is perfect. Usually, my shades are a little bit darker but this is the perfect nude color. It goes on creamy, dries matte, and lasts for hours. Even through eating and drinking without a lipliner. It’s $16 online and I would 100% recommend. Meagan liked it so much when she saw it that she bought it the next day!
BONUS – Every product in my bag was cruelty-free and I am so onboard with this. For the past few months, I make sure that every makeup product I buy is cruelty-free. Ipsy is the only one I can’t control when it comes to makeup so I’m always thrilled when the brands sent are cruelty-free. They don’t always say it on the packaging, but I make a point to look it up.
I was definitely blown away by this month’s bag. The last 2 months have been great. All in all, I don’t have a single complaint about this month. Even the bag itself is so adorable! If you want to sign up, click my affiliate link here!
