For the past few months I’ve been diligently planning the details of my younger sister’s bridal shower. She decided on a garden theme waffle brunch with gold accents for a little glitz. My nights have been spent gluing, folding, sewing, cutting, and re-gluing; I’ve got Band-Aids on multiple fingers, broken nails, and glitter everywhere. DIY Calming Glitter Jar

I’ve been looking for a way to help calm my 2-year-old son when his temper gets the best of him. Raspberry Orange Bites

I’m always in search of a yummy treat that I can serve my toddler, he’ll taste it, and he’ll actually want a second bite of it. This raspberry orange roll is adapted from a cranberry orange recipe I came across while on the hunt for something new. This Raspberry Orange Bites recipe came about mostly because I didn’t have cranberries on hand so the Raspberry Orange Bite was born.

When times get stressful sometimes all you want to do is escape the daily grind. One of my favorite ways to do that is by indulging in the supernatural/fantasy genre. What better way to get out of your head then to be in a world so unlike your own? Especially right now at the peak of hurricane season in Florida, we’re all still reeling from Hurricane Irma and all I want to do is think about something else.

I’ve always loved fantastical stories. From a young age I was all about Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings; as I’ve gotten older I’m realizing how much I truly love supernatural and fantasy storytelling. Books and TV shows really capture my attention because there is so much content to be consumed and the worlds really open up with long-form entertainment. DIY Cars Theme Cake Pop Stand

We just celebrated my son’s 2^nd birthday a few weeks ago, which was perfectly themed “Cars.” He’s a typical little boy who loves anything with 4 wheels! After spending months of planning his 1^st birthday party, I decided to make the second-year celebration a little more low key. So, this time around I bought most of the decorations instead of making them. I was able to find a lot of the Cars themed party décor at Party City and Walmart (which you can check out below). The one party décor item I made was this DIY Cars Theme Cake Pop Stand. J loves cake pops from Starbucks (a horrible thing I blame myself for) so I decided on cake pops this year instead of a cake.

Thrifting is one of my all time favorite pastimes. I love shopping – probably more than most people. Even if I’m just looking around, I’m enjoying myself. But thrift shopping takes that enjoyment to a whole other level.

I love when I can go to a thrift store and just see what different or interesting pieces I can pick up. Whether it’s a cool vintage item or something that can be repurposed, I love it.

Buying anything used and reusing it is also another way to keep from contributing to more waste in the world. When you reuse something it’s one less thing in a land fill. It doesn’t seem like much but it adds up.
