Honey is a perfect ingredient for homemade and natural face masks. Not only is honey an antioxidant, but it also possesses antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antimicrobial properties. Honey contains minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. These properties make honey a natural anti-aging agent. Honey is also a natural humectant—this means it attracts and retains moisture. Honey helps clarify skin by opening pores. After using any one of these natural, chemical free homemade face masks, your skin will feel incredibly soft and smooth.
Banana Honey Mask
- 1 Ripe banana-use the darkest one you have as it’ll have more potassium
- 1 Tsp. Honey
- 1 Tbsp. Oatmeal (optional)
Leave on face for 15-20 minutes.

Egg Yolk & Honey Mask
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 1 Tsp. Honey
- 2 Tbsp. Plain Greek Yogurt
Leave on face for 15 minutes.

Avocado & Honey Mask
- ½ an Avocado
- 1 Tsp. Honey
- 1 Tbsp. Plain Greek Yogurt
Leave on face for 15-20 minutes. **This is my favorite. It makes my skin feels incredibly clean and soft.

Another way of getting honey’s benefits is to add a teaspoon or so of it directly to one of your stores bought masks (or other beauty product).
If you’re really short on time, you can slather honey directly on your face. I personally don’t like that sticky feeling, but after I wash it off, my face feels more moisturized than it has from any other mask I’ve ever used.
These masks are healthy and chemical free but they’re also fun! I feel like a kid making them, mixing them up, and experimenting!
