When your fingernails are dry and brittle, and your cuticles are all cracked and bleeding, it’s no fun. And it’s not pretty either. But you can fix that by using cuticle oil to moisturize your cuticles. Use it as often as you can, especially when it’s dry out. Here’s a super simple recipe for DIY Cuticle Oil.
The main components of this DIY Cuticle Oil are almond oil, Vitamin E oil, and lavender essential oil.
What are the Benefits of These Oils?
Almond oil and vitamin E oil are both great moisturizers, which makes them perfect for dry cuticles. Both oils are easily absorbed into the skin and won’t clog your pores. Almond oil is especially good because it can be used directly on your face and body as a light moisturizer. It’s also rich in vitamins A, E, and K, which are all beneficial for your skin. If you don’t have almond oil on hand, you can substitute jojoba or avocado oil. All three oils work great as cuticle moisturizers.
Vitamin E in liquid form can be used as a topical in skin care. It helps soften dry skin because it acts as a humectant, which means it helps the skin absorb and retain water. If you love to experiment with new DIY beauty recipes, I think you’re going to really love this one!
Lavender essential oil is one of my all time favorite oils! Because it’s is known for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties it’s great for skin care, among so many other things. It’s one of the most versatile essential oils you’ll find and the brand Edens Garden is one of my favorite! You can use it in all kinds of lotions, soaps, and beauty products. It’s especially known for its ability to soothe anxiety and help as a sleep aid.
