6 Essential Items For Cold & Flu Season
We’ve barely made it halfway through cold and flu season and my little J has already gotten sick multiple times.
Sick babies are inevitable- with their curious minds and little hands touching everything in sight. Eventually, those germy hands make it to their mouth and BAM, sickness ensues! It’s a never-ending battle with children, especially babies and toddlers. But it’s one that can be made a little bit easier if you [Read more…]
Going to My First Wedding Expo!
Going to my first wedding expo was like diving into a swarming beehive. Except everyone is really excited to be there. Some brides are determined to find the best deals; some brides are just trying to see what the vendors have to offer. Vendors are trying to get everyone to sign up for something. And the few grooms that tagged along are hanging out at the bar or looking for free food.
So it’s an exciting time for everyone – congratulating each other and exchanging wedding details all while trying to move through the masses.

I attended the expo last weekend having no idea what to expect and trying not to take it too seriously. My wedding is over a year away so I was just interested to see what it was all about and maybe win some free stuff.

Nursery Dresser Organization
Let me just start by saying that J’s nursery dresser is currently the most organized dresser in the house. My dressers are pretty neat but not nearly as tidy as I’d like them to be.
The most useful nursery tip that I’ve come across and implemented: use a dresser [Read more…]
Nursery Closet Organiztion
In my house, everything has a place to belong. From my neatly arranged and alphabetized spice cabinet to my color and season coordinated wardrobe closet. Organization is the key to my happiness…and sanity.
Seven years ago when my husband and I exchanged our wedding vows, he promised to always put his socks away and try his hardest to keep the Tupperware cabinet clean. He knew in our house “an organized life equals happy wife”. Let’s just say- [Read more…]
Baby Boy Nursery Style- J’s Eclectic Nursery Creation
When the time came for me to start thinking about designing J’s nursery, I knew I wanted it to encompass a mix my husband’s and my favorite things along with a touch of our family’s history. I loved the idea of creating a unique space for my little one to discover where he came from, who he is, and the places he’ll go.
Low Maintenance Houseplants and 5 Essential Tips for their Care
Although gardening is one of my favorite hobbies, the lush green plants that I would bring home from the nursery often turned into brown, dried-up dead things. I just wasn’t able to give them the attention that they needed. Instead of giving up on houseplants, I’ve learned a few tricks to help keep them alive and healthy.
Packing for FL – 5 Essential Items for Summer Vacation
Summer is the perfect time to plan a vacation, especially a Florida Vacation. The kids are off school and flying is much easier without those winter layers. Tampa is always packed and Orlando is even worse. But it’s all in good fun! Except sometimes when it comes to packing. Sure we all know what to pack – toothbrush, extra underwear, bathing suit – those sorts of things make sense. But when planning for a Florida destination vacation there may be a few extras maybe you didn’t think of.
I recommend the below 5 items to make your Florida vaca a little more comfortable:
Just Got Engaged? Where to Start Planning
About a month ago I got engaged. I’ve probably been dreaming about getting married and planning a wedding for years. I can, without a doubt, say that just because I’ve been dreaming about it doesn’t mean I have any idea how to actually plan a wedding.
It’s strange because for such a long time getting married and planning a wedding was just a fantasy. Something I could plan on Pinterest without any real thought of executing it. Well now it’s really happening and I’m [Read more…]
Getting Engaged – It’s Worth the Wait
My now lovely fiancé and I have been together for almost 7 years. We only recently got engaged. That being said, the road was not easy and definitely not silent. You could say that I’ve been thinking about getting married and fantasizing about it for years. And the anticipation may have caused some arguments along the way. However, when it finally did happen, here are a few things I learned about the experience:
Back to School – As An Adult
Kids aren’t the only ones heading back to school these days. More than ever, adults are also heading back to the classroom. Adults usually have a variety of reasons for wanting to further their education which includes increasing their income, strengthening job security, or switching careers. Some want to become better educated, more informed people with broader horizons. Others, like me, need a change.
I decided to finish my bachelor’s degree in American Studies two years ago not long after having a kidney transplant. I wanted to make the most of my renewed health and pursue my goal of becoming a writer, but I had a sneaking suspicion that the workload of wife, mom, and a small business owner would take over my life again. So I decided to shake things up. [Read more…]
How To Work With Family AND Get Along
My favorite place to be in the whole world is sitting around the dining room table with my family. I especially like it when we’re enjoying a meal together. But sometimes we’re talking about work. And sometimes we’re arguing about work. The lines between family and work get blurred occasionally when you run a family business.
