If you’re like me, you’ve been looking forward to gift giving season and have probably bought at least a few items already. The kids and/or grandkids have, most likely, already have been dropping hints and circling items in the Christmas Amazon catalog. I’m always going to get my people a lot of what’s on their special list, but whether or not they’re on the list, books are always going to be part of my holiday giving. I’ve read many, many books over the years to my kids and grandson, as well as donating them to children in need, and these are some of my favorite.

Beach Vacation Scavenger Hunt
Summer is in full swing which means it’s time to break out the swimsuits and sunscreen. Like the majority of the country, traveling is back on our radar. Every summer our family packs up the house (literally) and heads to the beach for a full week of nothing but sun, sand, and waves. I usually bring a handful of activities and crafts to do during lunch breaks or in case it rains, so this year I’ll be bringing along this Beach Vacation Scavenger Hunt for some extra beach fun. This free printable- Roll and Write Letter Practice- is a fun activity that not only helps your early reader develop their writing skills needed for reading. [Read more…]
Thanksgiving Kindergarten Worksheet Pack
Thanksgiving is all about turkey, pumpkin pie, and family. It’s also the time of year when I like to take the opportunity to teach my little one exactly what being thankful is all about. Floating Letters Experiment
We’ve been doing a lot of easy science experiments at home, trying to keep the creative mind of an inquisitive 4-year-old active and curious. This Floating Letters Experiment is simple enough for young children and still fun for older kids. What’s great for parents is that it shouldn’t require an extra trip to the store due to the magic of Amazon, and it keeps kids busy for a while doing their best to guess the results. [Read more…]

Things That Go Scavenger Hunt
My 3 and a half-year-old son LOVES cars! He loves all things that go including monster trucks, planes, buses, emergency vehicles and motorcycles. He likes to get his head down real close to the ground and watch the wheels move back and forth. He’s always asking what each feature in my car does.
