In this post, I’ll show you how you can make your own Pikachu-themed Valentine’s Day box with simple materials and lots of creativity.
This DIY Pickachu Valentine’s Day Box is so adorable and easy to make. Even if you’re scrambling around at the last minute and don’t have all the supplies, it’s nothing a quick Walmart or Michaels run can’t fix. DIY Pikachu Valentine’s Box
Materials Needed
Shoebox, Photo box, or small Amazon box (who doesn’t have these lying around) ( I used a photo box from Michaels so the lid could be removed and we can save it)
Craft paper, Construction paper, or Scrapbook paper in approximately 6-7 yellow,1 black, 1 red, 1 brown, & 1 white ( I used scrapbook paper from Michaels)
Heart stickers (Dollar Tree or Michaels)
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Box cutters/utility knife
5 Yellow straws
Pencil
Pokeball Digital Download (FREE below)
Web Access (to create a name with Pokémon-inspired letters)
DIY Pickachu Valentine’s Day Box Directions
Start by cutting a rectangular opening at the top of the box where all the goodies will be put in. A box cutter will work best for this.
Line up your box on yellow paper to cut out pieces that will cover the front, back, and the sides of the box. Hot glue the paper onto the box. If you have a two-piece box, cover them separately so the lid can be removed to retrieve Valentine’s goodies.
Next, draw all the add-on pieces onto paper. You’ll need a tail, ears, hands, eyes, nose, mouth, back stripes, and cheeks.
Add heart stickers to the cheeks, mouth, and ears. Then begin to glue these pieces on the box. Use straws to help support the ears. I hot-glued these on.
Download and print our FREE Pokéball and cut it into a heart. Visit this site to create your child’s name in the Pokémon themed font. You can save the image, download, print, and glue it to the bottom of the pokéball.
