It’s very effective and affordable, and I think you’ll like it too.

This easy brush-cleaning recipe is not only affordable but its all-natural ingredients make it safe for sensitive skin. All you need is water, baking soda, Dawn soap, and lavender essential oil. Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl, dip your brushes, and then rub on a silicone mat to get the built-up gunk out of your brush. After air drying for about 24 hours, your brushes will be clean and ready to use. Plus they’ll smell great from the lavender oil!

DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

Ingredients

Warm Water

2 drops Dawn Dish Soap

1/4 tsp. Baking Soda

5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and gently mix.

Dip your makeup brush into the solution and swirl around.

Gently rub your makeup brush on a silicone brush mat.

Rinse and repeat steps 2 & 3 until the brush is clean and free of buildup. Dry your brushes with a clean towel.

Let your brushes air dry for about 24 hours before resuming normal use.
