I know the first day of Fall isn’t until September 22nd, but by Starbucks’ calendar, it’s officially pumpkin spice season so I’m in full swing. While everyone in Florida courageously awaited the arrival of Hurricane Irma this first weekend in September, my son and I walked the bare isles of Target trying to keep our minds off what was coming. When we came upon the dollar spot (a.k.a. Bullseye’s Playground), one of our favorite sections to browse, I immediately took notice of all the cute fall décor that inevitably made its way into my cart.
I love holiday decorating but with a toddler running around throwing anything that resembles a ball, it’s not a good idea to go overboard. I fear my pumpkins will not fare well if left within eye level of little J. So, with most holidays (these days) I keep the decorating to a minimum and keep it contained to one room in the house. I love to emphasize my favorite two pieces of furniture with holiday décor, my buffet table and my dining room table. Some core pieces stay, while others get relocated, and the themed décor makes its way to the forefront.

Hi! I’m Meagan and I’m a 41 year old mom of a high energy almost 9 year old, happily navigating my way through the little boy years. I’ve been married for 14 years. I met my husband over 20 years ago in high school; we got married 10 years later after graduating from the University of South Florida. I currently help run a family business with my parents while blogging about my life and love of DIY projects!
When I’m not at a kids sports game, I enjoy spending time with my family on a beach anywhere. I also love decorating and organizing, fun DIY projects, bargain shopping, and eating out or in! I also love Barbecue anything and a good show or movie on Netflix.

Yes! Pumpkins are back!
I know! Pumpkins, knee-high boots, orange leaves, they’re my fav!
I love how the Target Dollar Spot was a good distraction from the hurricane! Too funny! They should have marketed it that way. Like, “Worried about the hurricane? Take a stroll through our Dollar Spot and let your fears melt away!” Love your writing style!
Thanks, who doesn’t love Target?!
