Sight Word Learning Pack- Many and Have
If you’re a homeschooling mama or just need some extra homework resources, you can download this Sight Word Learning Pack- Many and Have totally free in this post.
Attention all kindergarten parents…I see you. I hear you. Teaching a child to read is hard work. Even harder if your child is homeschooled and it falls completely on you to guide them. After homeschooling my son last year, during the prime pandemic time, I have an even greater appreciation for teachers. Teaching my son to read was [Read more…]
10 Must Buy Kids Books For The Holiday Season
If you’re like me, you’ve been looking forward to gift giving season and have probably bought at least a few items already. The kids and/or grandkids have, most likely, already have been dropping hints and circling items in the Christmas Amazon catalog. I’m always going to get my people a lot of what’s on their special list, but whether or not they’re on the list, books are always going to be part of my holiday giving. I’ve read many, many books over the years to my kids and grandson, as well as donating them to children in need, and these are some of my favorite.
Digraphs WH, WR, PH Printable Pack
We’re back at it again this week with some more digraph practice. These practice posters and sorting activities have really helped my little one identify the different digraphs and the sounds they make. If you’re a homeschool parent-teacher or kindergarten teacher you know how difficult the task of reading can be for a child. There’s a lot to cover when teaching a child to read, including letter sounds, letter recognition, blends, vowels, digraphs, sight words, and CVC words. This fun Digraphs WH, WR, PH Printable Pack includes [Read more…]
Sight Word Practice with Magnetic Letters
If you’ve got a little one in preschool or kindergarten through second grade, then you know the struggle with teaching sight words. I’m always trying to come up with new and creative ways to try and reduce the repetitiveness of teaching sight words to my very non-interested 5-year-old. Flashcards are great, and in a pinch, I might fall back on them, but I try not to rely on them. I like to incorporate as many hands-on and creative learning when it comes to sight words, which is why this activity, Sight Word Practice with Magnetic Letters, [Read more…]
How To Start a Book Club
If you like to read books and talk with others who’ve read them, then joining a book club may be for you. Because I love to do this, I’m a member of three book clubs! To find a book club in your area, you can definitely go online and/or social media and search “book clubs near me”. You can ask friends and acquaintances if they know of any book clubs. Also, check with your library or other local organizations that may sponsor book clubs. If you don’t find an interesting book club in your area, [Read more…]
28 Things About Me!
It’s my birthday month! Technically it’s the time of the Virgo, but come September 23rd, it’ll be Libra season!
I know it has been a while since I posted. I have been traveling to the Pacific North West for a series of Dave Matthews Band concerts and visiting friends. We’re currently hanging out in Washington and loving it! I promise to share more on that soon.
Like I said, it’s [Read more…]
What I’ve been Loving Lately
Living in a van for 3 months can definitely change a person. Being home for a week though, I’ve already fallen back into some old habits. I guess some habits never really die. And one of those is my love for shopping!
Being back from a long trip in which you can’t really shop because you have no place to put anything (and can’t realistically afford) makes all the difference. Now we’re home, making adjustments, and changes to the van. So, I can remove some things I really didn’t need or use on the road – thus making room for some new stuff.
There are also some things I have been loving for a while now since being on the road and I just want to share them with you!
What I’ve been Reading, Watching, & Listening to Lately
I was recently inspired to do a post like this by Amber from XOXO, Am. Since I’m always interested to know what people are into, I thought maybe you all might want to know what I’ve been into lately. I haven’t done a post like this in forever! Since I canceled my Ipsy subscription (in an effort to save money and cut back on consumption), I realized I haven’t reviewed much of anything either. So this week I’m just going to catch you guys up on what I’ve been doing.
Reflections and Mindful Resolutions
The year 2016 is over, and let’s face it, it was not pretty. Everywhere I turned – Facebook and Twitter – they all were counting down the seconds until 2017, hoping that the New Year would be different.
While we might hope that a new year will bring a new us, we have to recognize that years are just marked days on a calendar. Nothing really changes in those final seconds, nothing instantly transforms us. We still have to make conscious decisions to move forward and change. Entering 2017 does not erase 2016. We still have to remember the choices we made to get to 2017.
Without getting political or anything, it’s time to recognize that the world is changing. It’s time to do our part of working with it or against it. Resolutions don’t have to be about getting fit or quitting smoking. They can be about making a difference in the world. Because whether you believe it or not – one person can make a difference, and when we work together we change the world.
