I’m always on the hunt for healthy and filling snacks to curb my appetite. Nut blends, like this Fall Trail Mix, are one of my favorite go-to snacks to grab when I’m on the move. They’re fast and filling and especially great for beach days, the park, or in between meals. I love to swap out ingredients depending on the season and what I’m craving.
Usually, my homemade trail mixes consist of a variety of raw nuts, seeds, dried fruit, dark chocolate chunks, and sometimes coconut shreds. I like to switch it up depending on the season and what my body is craving. It just so happens to be Fall and with the temperature change, my body is telling me that it wants feel good foods including seasonal nuts like walnuts and pecans and, of course, chocolate! Who doesn’t want chocolate year-round, right?

I put together this Fall Trail Mix Blend with a combination of raw walnuts, almonds, dried cherries, and dark chocolate chips. I think I’m going to add some unsalted sunflower seeds for a little extra crunch. The nuts and seeds are full of healthy fats that are good for your body and the minimal sugar in the dried cherries and chocolate is just enough to keep my body going.
Try making a big batch and storing it in mason jars. The mix usually lasts about a month if sealed and stored properly.
