They’re a fun treat for both adults and kids, and really easy to make. They’re also super festive, making them the perfect addition to your 4th of July table. Plus, they’re non-alcoholic, so they are great for kids or anyone who doesn’t drink. However, if you’re looking to spice things up a bit for the adults, you can always add a little vodka.
The best thing about these Red, White & Blue Strawberry Jello Bites is that they are so easy to make. Which makes them the perfect summer snack for your next Fourth of July cookout or BBQ. Especially if you’re super busy and don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to cooking. Not only do these Jello Bites look festive, they taste great too. Everyone will think you spent hours on this cute little snack that takes less than 20 minutes to make! Are you ready to make them?

Red White & Blue Strawberry Jello Bites
What Do I Need?
3 oz. Box of Blue Raspberry Jello
1-2lbs of Fresh Strawberries
Whipped Cream
Small Corer or watermelon baller
Red, white & blue sprinkles (optional)
Medicine Dropper/Syringe (I used left over from children’s liquid medications)
How Do I Make Red White & Blue Strawberry Jello Bites
Depending on how many party-goers you’re expecting, you might only need a pound or two of strawberries. A 3oz. Jello package will fill about 3-4lbs of strawberries. And depending on how much time you have, you can either give them a quick rinse or let them soak for a bit in a mixture of cold water, vinegar, and baking soda.
When I have the time, I do a vinegar soak and here’s how to do it.
Fill a large bowl with cold water, add strawberries, 1 tsp. of baking soda, and then about 1/2 cup of vinegar. Swoosh the strawberries around to get all the excess dirt off. Let them sit for about 10 minutes- if I’m running low on time I just rinse and dry them.
Next, make a small cut off the bottom of the strawberry so that it will stand up straight. Be sure not to cut oo mucha s you also have to scoop out the inside and you don’t want to make a hole for the Jello to seep through.
After you’ve cut all the bottoms off, remove the leaves from the tops of the strawberries. Then use a small watermelon baller or a corer to scoop out the sides. Be very careful not to make a hole in the bottom of the strawberry, as even the smallest hole will allow the Jello to seep through (I learned this the hard way).
Follow the the box instructions and make blue Jello. Don’t overstir or you’ll get bubbly Jello.
To fill the strawberries, I used an old medical syringe from my son’s antibiotic treatments. I always keep a few of these on hand in the kitchen- they come in clutch for things like this.
After you’ve filled the strawberries, let them set in the refrigerator for about 2-3 hours.
When you’re ready to set them out, top with whipped cream and red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)!
If you’ve going to an adult’s only party and you want to make these just a bit more fun, if you know what I mean, then add vodka to the Jello mix (before adding it to the strawberries).
For the alcohol version of this recipe, make your Jello by combing 1 cup of hot water, 1/2 cup of cold water or juice, and a 1/2 cup chilled vodka. Don’t overstir or you’ll get bubbly Jello. Follow the remaining steps.
