A few years ago I started this tradition with my son and he loves it. I make a fun breakfast that usually incorporates rainbow-themed items like colored pancakes or waffles topped with whipped cream and Lucky Charms cereal. I also hide treasure hunt clues around the house to help lead him to his Lucky Basket like the one you see below.
What Is a Lucky Basket?
A Lucky Basket is a themed gift basket filled with green and gold goodies, lucky charms, and sweet surprises. Inspired by the idea of bringing good fortune, these baskets can be customized to fit any age or preference, making them a versatile and heartwarming gift for St. Patrick’s Day. It’s basically the equivalent of an Easter Basket but for St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re looking to start a new tradition like this or you already have but need some filler ideas, check out my list of St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Basket Ideas from Target.
You can find the Treasure Hunt Clues in our Etsy Shop, I’ve linked them below.
The plastic cauldron can be substituted with any basket if you can’t pick one up in time. Add small green items to go along with the holiday theme and some St. Patrick’s Day-themed prizes, candy, chocolate, and money and you’ve got yourself a Lucky Basket.

Hi! I’m Meagan and I’m a 41 year old mom of a high energy almost 9 year old, happily navigating my way through the little boy years. I’ve been married for 14 years.
