When Meagan and Christina suggested I write about holiday budgeting, I wasn’t too keen on the idea. I’m not a meticulous budgeter. I am a person who lives within their means and keeps debt to a minimum. I’m frugal at times, but [Read more…]
This week I’m making holiday bath bombs!
Bath bombs are great all year around, but they’re also a great little holiday gift. You can make them for a hostess gift or even secret Santa – because who doesn’t love a nice warm bath once in a while? Especially you! In my family, there is one holiday tradition that always reminds us that Christmas is near—Apple Sheet Pie. The warm scent of baked apples, sweet cinnamon spice, powdered sugar, vanilla glaze, and store bought [Read more…]
Every year around this time we’re all starting on our holiday gift list. We’re trying to find that gift that means something to someone; we want to make sure it’s something they’ll like and that it’s special. My favorite types of holiday movies are usually of the more non-traditional variety. Don’t get me wrong, there is always a place in my heart for Home Alone and The Santa Clause, BUT I can’t help but love these few others.
One of my fondest memories growing up involved reading books with my mom. From the time I was a little girl, not even old enough to read myself, she would spend hours reading to my sister and I. From short stories to chapter books, my mother often read anything and everything to us kids.
As an adult, and a new mother, reading books to my young son has become a year ‘round staple in my house. While this is also common for most, it isn’t for all families. Some just pull books out around the holidays, for others, it’s [Read more…]
The holidays are a time when many of us honor our most heartfelt traditions. Those traditions usually revolve around our families, our spirituality, and our religion. Sometimes our traditions are deeply intimate. Sometimes they are light and fun. Whatever they are, our traditions are meant to bring us joy and satisfaction.
